We keep our core team very lean to reduce our overhead. This means that the majority of funding we raise goes directly to frontline partners delivering impact on the ground. Our role is to act as catalysts, mobilising strategic allies and targeting funding where it matters most.
Vijay is currently the founder and CEO of medical technology start up One Breath Inc.
He has over 30 years experience in global business development, manufacturing, operations and project management. He is a member of the FICCI Advisory Council on Innovation and an advisor to a number of Government bodies.
As a passionate evangelist for inclusive innovation, he has been associated with a number of international incubators and has assisted Omidyar Networks to conduct due diligence on VC investments.
Gayitri brings over 30 years of creative experience in the private sector and has always had an inclusive approach to business.
She initiated the formation of garment workers into one of the first such co-operatives in Karnataka, which has subsequently been used as a model for many government initiatives.
Most recently she worked in the rural livelihoods and water sectors as a Regional Business Development Manager providing affordable, accessible services to people living at the base of the pyramid.
Shibu has led the Zero Waste programmes at Thanal since 2000. He has deep experience and networks in the solid waste management sector across the region. He coordinates the Zero Waste Himalaya Network and is a Regional Advisory Committee Member of GAIA Asia Pacific.
He is a guest faculty in Kerala Institute of Local Administration and State Institute of Rural Development. He provides technical consultancy to governments, institutions and communities on solid waste management and zero waste systems.
Tiffany is focused on developing robust financial models to scale up our incubation projects and she played a central role in developing the growth strategy for Waste Ventures India.
Previously Tiffany worked as a strategy consultant with KPMG’s Mergers and Acquisitions, bringing experience of deal due diligence and business improvement projects in the US and Germany.
Tiffany grew up in Nigeria and she has led various community development projects in locations ranging from East Detroit to Panama to Guatemala City where she worked with waste pickers at the landfill site.

Hasirudala means ‘Green Force’ in recognition of the contribution that waste pickers make in diverting 1200 tonnes of waste from landfills in Bangalore every day. It is a membership based organisation with over 6000 members, providing outreach, support and training courses to enable waste pickers to deliver formal waste management services.
HasiruDala campaigned for the breakthrough legislation that resulted in the Bangalore municipality issuing ID cards legitimising waste pickers’ work. HasiruDala also enables waste pickers to secure social security benefits, improved working conditions and opportunities for their children to pursue further education.
